Cherelle Parker is on track to become Philadelphia’s first female mayor after winning the Democratic nomination. Parker is expected to win in a city where Democrats outnumber Republicans by seven to one. In contrast to some of her progressive competitors, Cherelle pledged to hire more police officers and reinstate a constitutional stop-and-frisk.
Cherelle Parker is married to Ben Mullins, an IBEW union member
Cherelle Parker married Ben Mullins on 30th July 2010. Parker represented the 200th district in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives at the time. Mullins was a leader in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), a labor union representing workers and retirees in the electrical industry across the Americas.
Rev. Dr. Alyn Waller of Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church presided over the ceremony. The more than 300 guests included the Mayor, State Representatives, and State Senators. State Representative Dwight Evans and Councilwoman Marian B. Tasco stood in for Parker’s deceased parents.
Parker and Mullins keep the details about their married life secret. We know little about the couple except that they live in the Mount Airy section of Philly.
The Democratic party nominee for Philadelphia describes herself as a working mom on Instagram. However, the identities or number of her children are unclear.
Ben Mullins is no longer a leader of the IBEW’s Philadelphia section. However, we believe he is still a member of the labor union.
