Corpse Husband is an American YouTuber who has gained rapid fame due to his recent collaboration gaming streams with stars such as PewDiePie and LilyPichu. Husband started his social media career in 2015 and gradually gained followers due to his deep, unique voice, which he used to narrate horror stories.
Husband currently has 2.39 million subscribers on his main YouTube channel. He also has another channel with 242K subscribers that mainly contains his music. Corpse is a mysterious character, as very few people know his true identity.
Husband is content with keeping his identity secret and will probably never do a face reveal
There is certainly an allure in achieving fame without revealing your identity. We have had many celebrities detail the pitfalls of fame, which include having little to no privacy and getting treated differently. Husband’s motivation to hide his identity stemmed from his desire to add more mystery to his story-telling.
The rebellious youth had no idea that he would become as famous as he is today. He merely wanted to make his horror stories more interesting by refusing to give the story-teller a face. Husband has teased a face-reveal several times over the past few years, but it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that he will do a face reveal.
Husband has millions of followers, and he is unsure whether he would manage the sudden attention that would come his way after revealing his identity. “I’ve kept that door closed for so long,” Corpse told Anthony Padilla. “It’s opening that door and having all the build up from millions of people now all at once. So it would be a dramatic life change.”
Corpse also told Anthony that fans shouldn’t waste time looking for his photo as there is no picture of him on the internet showing his entire face. A recent tweet by Corpse suggested that he has no interest in revealing his identity even to celebrities. On 11th October, he tweeted:
“My favorite thing about blowing up quick is every verified massive artist with millions of followers DM’ing me on Instagram saying they love me and stuff so much and then unsending and unfollowing me in 2 days when I don’t reply.”
Corpse temporarily stopped posting on YouTube after losing feeling in his arms and finding out his mom had cancer
Corpse Husband was born on 8th August 1997, and grew up in San Diego, California. Husband had health problems during his time in school, and in 8th grade, he dropped out. He went back to school a short while later, but his constant quarrels with authorities led to his expulsion. Corpse revealed in a May 2019 stream:
“Fucking trouble with teachers, I don’t deal with authority that well. I feel like even if you are a teacher, your student should be equal to you no matter what. I think the educational system’s fucked.”
Husband initially joined a community of YouTubers known as Horror Narration Channels. He experienced a bit of success with the group, but he wanted to do something unique with his content. Corpse wanted to narrate true horror stories from his fans, and so, be branched out on his own. With the help of his then-girlfriend, he came up with the name Corpse Husband, and started posting videos.
Corpse posted consistently until the start of 2019 when he was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia. The diagnosis surprised doctors as the condition rarely occurs in people within Husband’s demographic. Husband’s condition continued to deteriorate as he lost feeling in both of his arms and started to lose his voice. He then learned that his mom had been diagnosed with cancer. He revealed:
“My mom had cancer and we do really talk much. She had had it for a bit. I had a double arm brace in my bed, not able to talk to anybody, not able to move, and I just find that out and it really like set me off. I didn’t know what to do.”
Husband tried some home remedies to try to regain feeling in his arms, and it started working. He then started physiotherapy, which further facilitated his recovery. Meanwhile, his mom started cancer treatment. At the moment, Corpse is doing fine, and his mom is free from cancer.
Corpse’s decision to remain anonymous has wrecked his social life and we assume that he has no girlfriend
In March 2020, Husband told Anthony Padilla that he has no social life. “I just come off as sketchy to everybody,” Husband said. “I can’t answer simple questions.” Husband added that nobody in his life knows about his online personality.
Husband revealed that he had a girlfriend before starting his YouTube career, but we suspect that he is currently single. It’s difficult to see how he would maintain a relationship while hiding how he earns a living.
